I am working as a researcher at the Institute for Data Science, Engineering, and Analytics (IDE+A) at TH Köln in Germany.
My current research focuses on ‘Missing Data Methods’ and ‘Imputation for Sensor Time Series’. I am also interested in machine learning, time series analysis, artificial intelligence, anomaly detection and data compression 🚀. Which I have been working on in my years at R&D of Bosch and at TH Köln in industrial research projects.
As a big enthusiast of the statistical programming language R, I maintain multiple R packages. Whenever possible I try to make research work available for others as an easy-to-use package to build on (see Software).
When I am not occupied reading or working on my computer 📖, I really enjoy doing sports. I like running, bouldering and track & field athletics. Just recently I finished my first triathlon. Sometimes I also join local races and competitions - mostly with the goal of reaching the finish line 😃.

Welcome to my personal website (www.data-science-decaf.com). The name comes from the motto:
“Data Science explained so easy that you don't need tons of coffee anymore."
I originally registered it for a blog project that went inactive due to the fact that a day just hasn’t enough hours (it is still somehow the motto for this page). But, if you now need coffee, because the blog is missing - I am an enthusiastic home barista and specialty coffee lover ☕ 😉.
